Prophet Owuor Is A False Prophet. We Must Not Become a False Congregation

A friend once told someone, ‘ni umaskini inakusumbua.’ This is true especially within the African context of prayer and revival. People often argue that our God is rich so why should we be poor. Therefore, the immediate question we should ask is, ‘what is to be rich?’

For example, if all men have cars then are all men rich? If not, then is the man who has no car poor. This in essence means that all wealth is relative. In fact, wealth is not only relative but it is also a comparison between independent and distinct beings. This then means that one who has life must compare himself to another who also has life for him or her to be rich. In summary, there must be other gods for you to compare God with before you can call God rich. You cannot call yourself rich by comparing yourself to a rock, can you?

It can then be said that whoever advances this kind of argument may say that he is a Christian but actually, he is not a Christian. This is because his argument is blasphemous and against the monotheistic nature of Christianity. In other words, it is just a false argument to advance a personal agenda fueled by vanity and want.

Then there is the famous Prophet Owuor. I do not understand how people can say that Sean Carter (Jay Z), the Pope in Rome, the Rothschild Family and the US Federal Reserve are all members of the Illuminati but fail to mention ‘prophets’ such as Prophet Owuor. It is simply baffling if you think critically about it.

To begin with, what is Prophet Owuor prophesying? If Jesus is God and God walked among us, then what more can Prophet Owuor add that Jesus did not mention and then decided that Owuor would enlighten us? Have you ever heard of an MP speaking at a function after the President of the Republic delivers his speech? Are we not waiting for the end times after the Son of Man came? Does the Bible not say that no one knows the time of His coming? Again, the question begs, what is this man prophesying? All events, episodes and incidents that are to occur need no prediction and/or prophesying. The teachings of Jesus showed us how to deal and cope with those situations as and when they arise. We are to look up to Jesus and his teachings for guidance and not to false prophets here on earth.

Secondly, which apostle of Jesus ever accumulated wealth? Which prophet in the Old Testament was a rich man? There is nothing as blasphemous as the idea of a rich prophet. This is not only true in Christianity but in all religions the world over. Prophet Owuor is not only a rich man but is a man who openly flaunts his wealth. I would say, remember what Jesus said to the rich man who asked to be his follower but I am sure you already know the story. God is indifferent to wealth and its accumulation. This is the preoccupation of mortal men. However, God is very specific to those He chooses or to those who want to guide others into the spiritual realm. The few chosen by God or those who step forward are to give up wealth, grandeur and other earthly things. Your dear Prophet is nowhere close to giving up personal wealth, grandeur and earthly things. In fact, you could say that he is actively in pursuit of it.

Thirdly, can a servant put himself before his master? It can never be so unless the servant wishes to become the master. This is exactly what Prophet Owuor is doing. He is putting himself before the teachings of Christ. He is placing himself on a pedestal higher than the altar at which his sacrifice to Christ should lie. The man moves around like a king, loves it when the masses call out his name, basks in the limelight and is proud of the fact that he can call Presidents and Ministers on speed dial. This is not a man of God. This is a man of the world. You are to humble yourself before Christ. You are to sit at the far end of the table. You are to wash the feet of your servants and above all, you are to forsake all that is here on earth.

In conclusion, all men must and should forsake all earthly things for them to follow Christ. Preachers, pastors and priests should be at the forefront of giving up all that they own. However, the Church will undoubtedly have wealth. This is important to the Church so that it can carry out its functions, keep up its resilience in a globally dynamic world and build up itself to minister to others who have not yet heard the Good News. Personal wealth among this special group of Church leaders is un-Christian. You and your children can never and should never lay claim to what others have contributed to in the belief that they were contributing to God.

Finally, there were and there are no prophets after Jesus no matter how many times we put the prefix ‘Prophet’ before their names. Jesus still walks among us and none is worthy enough to proclaim himself a servant above other servants of Christ. There can only be pastors, preachers and priests. Anyone who called himself a prophet or calls himself a prophet in any given religion after the life and death of Christ is part of the establishment that will come to fight Christ.
