Personally, I’m glad Jimna Mbaru lost! It can serve as a good wake up call to Kenyans. However, the problem is that Kenyans are still to grasp the moral of the story.
A degree and/or a corporate CV both remain forever irrelevant in the field of public leadership. In this arena what matters are your set of values not your ability to churn out profits. In this arena you lead people not resources.
This has been the way of politics for millennia. It will continue to be the way for millennia to come as it should be. What should change in Kenya is the set of values we ascribe to.
